Professor Tranquilo
With a background in kung fu, I have always been fascinated by martial arts and took my first Capoeira class in 2003. I ran my own school in Warrington from 2010-2016 and since joining Mestre Papa-Léguas’ Tucum group, I’ve been teaching in Manchester since 2021.
I want to bring out the best in people through guidance and coaching in all the varied aspects of capoeira. I decided to become a certified Personal Trainer to be better informed on keeping bodies of all ages and abilities in the best health possible. I’m also a keen musician and interested in helping people to understand the capoeira’s rich musical tradition, from instruments and singing through to the stories behind the songs.
Instrutora Saray
I started Capoeira at university in 2006 after being inspired by the moves of character Eddy Gordo from the game Tekken. I was instantly hooked on capoeira’s rich art form and how it enabled me to do things with my body I never thought I could.
I began my journey in the Cordão de Ouro group with Mestre Parente and have trained and learned from renowned Masters from around the world across all styles of capoeira. Now with the Tucum group under Mestre Papa-Léguas, I blend a focus on teaching capoeira with my continued growth and development focused on the Tucum methodology, capoeira music and history.
My teaching philosophy is based on a true belief that capoeira has something for everyone, no matter your starting point. As a certified personal trainer, I place great focus on body conditioning and adapting to students’ needs and aspirations throughout their journey.
I also believe that capoeira is stronger in community and a great “third space” for people to come together and socialize in an inclusive, nurturing and fun environment.
About the Tucum Capoeira Group
Founded in 2021 by Mestre Papa-Léguas and his students, the group embraces capoeira in its entirety, and strives to excel in technical aspects of capoeira. Mestre Papa-Léguas has developed a training methodology that helps capoeiristas to learn and understand the game. The group is diverse and pools the skills of its teachers so we all become more complete capoeiristas and continue learning, adapting, and contributing to the artform.
The group has more than ten schools worldwide, teaching hundreds of students.
About Mestre Papa-Léguas
